On Thursday, September 27th, 2018, contracts were signed between the City of Novi Pazar and 20 new business entities registered by the selected beneficiaries of the project “Novi Pazar – New Jobs” within the component self-employment. 20 people from the hard-to-employ categories of the population were given support to start their own business and gain economical independence.

The Mayor of Novi Pazar, Nihat Bisevac, pointed to the significance of the project “Novi Pazar – New Jobs”, which enabled the employment of a significant number of people, in a period of time in which the city of Novi Pazar and Serbia are facing a burning issue of unemployment. “We know that every beginning is hard, especially in a private business. We hope and we are sure that the equipment they will get within the project will facilitate and enhance successful start of their companies. I am sure that these companies will become successful in few years and will be able to hire new persons from the records of the National Employment Service. ”

After the first phase of the project in which 30 companies employed 30 people, the signing of these contracts started the implementation of the second phase of the project, that is, the self-employment component. The project is funded by the German International Cooperation GIZ in the amount of 200.000 euros. The project is implemented by the City of Novi Pazar, and the partners are the Regional Development Agency of Sandzak and IDC.
