On Thursday, September 27th, 2018, 20 new economic entities registered by the selected beneficiaries within the component self-employment of the project “Novi Pazar – Novi poslovi” signed their contracts with the city of Novi Pazar. Start up grants  were received by 20 persons from the hard-to-employ categories of the population.

In the first phase of the project 30 people were employed  in 30 companies within employment support component. With the signing of these additional 20 contracts we started the second phase of the project, creating new jobs in Novi Pazar through self-employment component. The Mayor of Novi Pazar, Nihat Bisevac, pointed out the significance of the project “Novi Pazar – new jobs”, which enabled the employment of a significant number of people, in a situation in which the city of Novi Pazar and Serbia are fighting serious unemployment rates. “We know that no beginning comes easy, especially in a private business. We hope and we are sure that the equipment thet will be provided within the project will facilitate and make the beginning for newly formed companies a little easier. I am sure that these companies will be successful in  few years and will be able to hire new persons through National Employment Service” Bisevac said.

The project is financed by the German Organization for International Cooperation GIZ within the project “INITIATIVE FOR INCLUSION”. The project Initiative for Inclusion  was initiated by the GIZ and the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, the National Employment Service, the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of Serbia and the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of RS, within the framework of German-Serbian developmental cooperation.

The “Novi Pazar Novi Poslovi” project is implemented by the City of Novi Pazar in partnership with the Regional Development Agency of Sandzak and IDC.
