Partnership agreement on the implementation of the SOLIS project signed in Pirot
This Tuesday, in the Ceremonial Hall of the City of Pirot , the signing of partnership agreements was held within the project “Sustainable social protection – Support for social services in local communities in Serbia (SOLIS)” jointly implemented by the German organization Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) and IDC, with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ).
The project will be implemented in the City of Pirot, the municipalities of Babusnica, Bela Palanka, Dimitrovgrad, Svrljig and Knjazevac, as well as partners from southwestern Serbia – Novi Pazar, Raska, Ivanjica and Tutin.
The project will aim to improve the rights of people with disabilities and their families, developing sustainable social services and strengthening the capacity of local communities in the field of social protection.
The event brought together representatives of local self-governments, centers for social work, civil society organizations and social protection institutions from partner cities and municipalities in the southeast of Serbia. In the introductory speeches, the importance of regional cooperation and joint development of services that correspond to the real needs of citizens was highlighted.
One of the key activities of the project in this region will be the establishment of the “Respite Accommodation” service in the village of Temska near Pirot, intended for children with developmental disabilities and their families. It is planned to establish a facility with a professional team and capacities that will provide temporary accommodation and support for families who need a break from daily care.
Through the project, IDC will provide support to local partners in developing new and improving existing social services, strengthening intersectoral cooperation and creating sustainable support models in local communities.
