8th ISC Conference held in Belgrade: social entrepreneurship in focus

From 8 to 11 May, IDC hosted the 8th International Samaritan Cooperation (ISC) network Conference in Belgrade, organized in cooperation with Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund. This year’s conference gathered ISC partners from Eastern and Southeastern Europe to exchange experiences, strengthen partnerships, and jointly develop new ideas in the field of social entrepreneurship.

The conference theme, “Social Entrepreneurship – Opportunities and Challenges”, brought together lectures, study visits, group work and presentations of innovative ideas for sustainable social enterprises. Participants had the opportunity to learn more about successful examples from Serbia and discuss models that contribute to greater social inclusion and economic empowerment of vulnerable groups.

A particularly valuable part of the programme were study visits to social enterprises in Belgrade – “Bagel Bejgl”, “Naša Kuća” and “Zvuci srca” – where participants could directly experience how social entrepreneurship works in practice and how it contributes to the community through employment opportunities and support for people from vulnerable social groups.

The conference once again highlighted the importance of international cooperation and mutual support among civil society organizations in developing sustainable and inclusive solutions to social challenges. IDC would like to thank all partners, participants and guests for the inspiring discussions, knowledge exchange and positive energy that filled Belgrade throughout the four-day event.
