Commencement of the activities to provide support to refugees from Ukraine

In cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, the IDC has started implementing activities on a project aimed at preparing and strengthening mechanisms to respond to the increased influx of refugees from Ukraine.

During May, the first humanitarian aid delivery activities were carried out for refugees accommodated in the Asylum Center Vranje. Humanitarian aid was delivered through food packages, hygiene packages, shoes and raincoats. Humanitarian aid was provided with the support of Farma Mundi from Spain.

In cooperation with the Commissariat, we also worked on improving the accommodation facilities’ quality. The asylum centre in Vranje is equipped with 20 beds (10 bunk beds with mattresses), while the centre in Obrenovac is equipped with a total of 135 beds (40 bunk beds and 55 single beds with mattresses). The strengthening of accommodation capacities was also realised with the support of Farma Mundi, thanks to the financial support of the Badajoz Provincial Council.
