On 15 October 2025, in Novi Pazar, the second meeting of the working group was held as part of the regional EMPOWERED Western Balkans project, aimed at improving the position of persons with disabilities and strengthening regional cooperation in the Western Balkans. Organised by IDC, the meeting brought together representatives of relevant institutions, civil society organisations and the local community to coordinate further steps in social protection, community-based support and the promotion of inclusion of persons with disabilities.

The meeting addressed the further development of project activities related to social protection services and community support, as well as opportunities to enhance local strategic documents and financing mechanisms for these services. The discussion focused on analysing the current situation and needs of individuals entitled to social protection services and explored ways to strengthen their participation in local community life. Through a participatory approach, participants developed initial proposals to improve the quality and accessibility of social services and to ensure more effective realisation of the rights of persons with disabilities. The importance of advancing cross-sectoral cooperation among competent institutions, civil society organisations, and the local community was also emphasised.
