“CONFINEMENT AND RESTRICTION OF FREEDOM, IN A EUROPEAN RESPECT”
CEMEA FRANCE is a popular and new education movement and a training organisation. It is a non-profit organisation structured by a national network composed of twenty-seven territorial associations that belong to a network of more than twenty-six European associations (EAICY). In addition, CEMEA is a full member of a SOLIDAR network.
The pandemic COVID-19 triggered the massive public health crisis with the numerous deaths around the globe and represents one of the most significant challenges since WWII with potential to create a devastating social, economic and political crisis worldwide. As a response, the various countries have introduced measures, aiming at the protection of public health.
In order to open a public debate about the adopted measures in the fight against COVID – 19 from human rights perspective on the cases of France, Italy and Serbia, including the response of SCOs, CEMEA FRANCE has organised online broadcasting on May 14, 2020.
It was a unique opportunity to share experiences and to have a fruitful discussion on the similarities and differences in the fight against COVID – 19 between countries with different socio-political background and context. The particular added value of the debate was sharing the examples of good practice on CSOs response to COVID – 19.
The participants of the online broadcasting were the members of SOLIDAR network, respectively:
Italy – Claudio Tosi, President of CEMEA Rome
France – Jean François Mignard, La Ligue des Droits de l’Homme
Serbia – Milena Sosic, legal advisor at IDC
Translator – Isabelle Palanchon, CEMEA Europe and International Department
