On Friday, February 1st, we have announced the public calls for internally displaced persons and returnees under the Readmission Agreement from the territory of the City of Smederevo and the municipalities of Smederevska Palanka, Velika Plana and Kovin, who can apply for assistance in the form of building material packagees and economic empowerment packages.
Calls were opened within the project LSG 4 LAP – Permanent solutions for internally displaced persons and returnees through partnership implemented by IDC in cooperation with the City of Smederevo and the municipalities of Smederevska Palanka, Velika Plana and Kovin. The project is funded by the European Union through the Delegation of the European Union in Serbia.
The aid in the form of a building material package is non-refundable and is approved for the purchase of building material necessary for the completion or adaptation of a residential building, with the maximum value of one package of building materials of EUR 4500 (four thousand and five hundred euros) excluding VAT. Assistance is granted for: construction / reconstruction of supporting structure (walls, roof construction), waterproofing partition walls, construction / upgrading sanitary nets, installation / replacement of wall and floor coverings, carpentry, facades, plastering and introduction / replacement of electrical and plumbing installations and others works necessary for the completion of construction or adaptation, by which the immovable property would bring into a state in which it provides basic living conditions for use and housing.
Economic empowerment packages consist of training to start their own businesses and grants for the procurement of equipment and materials. The aid is non-refundable and is approved in the maximum amount of up to 1800 euros (one thousand and eight hundred euros) without VAT.
The entire text of the public Calls has been posted on the bulletin boards and websites of the City of Smederevo and the municipalities of Smederevska Palanka, Velika Plana and Kovin. Refugee and migration trustees in these municipalities are at the disposal of all interested parties who need help and additional information in the application process.
Calls are open until March 4, 2019.
In addition to these two public calls, the project also provides support in the form of purchasing rural households for internally displaced and returnee families, and a public call for users under this component will be opened shortly.
