Empowered

This project is focused on strengthening the inclusion of persons with disabilities (PwDs) across the Western Balkans. Led by the German organization Arbeiter Samariter Bund Deutschland e.V. and funded by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

Project duration: 01.09. 2024 – 30.10.2028.

The main objective of the project is to promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities through regional cooperation and development in the Western Balkans, including regional dialogue and advocacy, sharing of best practices, as well as the joint development of community support systems.

In the target communities, representatives of different sectors will develop their capacities to implement joint initiatives that promote social investments in education and employment for over 20,000 persons with disabilities. During the implementation, recommendations on effective partnerships between the public, private and civil sectors will be developed. Through the established partnerships, the project will lay the foundation for restructuring social investment funds to better support the inclusion of persons with disabilities.
