This project is the third in a series of projects financed by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is committed to providing assistance and support to refugees, migrants and asylum seekers in Serbia. IDC is local implementation partner of ASB office in Serbia. The project enabled the continuation of medical assistance and support through volunteer activities for refugees, migrants and asylum seekers as well as for local communities that are most burdened with impacts of this crisis.

Activities:

  •    Provision of medical assistance in reception centers in Subotica, Dimitrovgrad and Principovac (Municipality of Sid).

Since the beginning of the refugee crisis, IDC has been active in the field of provision of medical protection to migrants on the route through Serbia. The first IDC medical team was formed at the end of 2015 in the municipality of Sid, where it was active in the night shift at the railway station. The scope and intensity of IDC activities in this field had been actively adjusted over time to the needs on the field. The mobile medical team that was active on the territory of the municipality of Dimitrovgrad for some time, moved to the ambulance of a newly-built reception center, built also thanks to the funds of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ASB. When Serbia was under the greatest burden of the migrant crisis, IDC had 7 active medical teams in reception centers all over Serbia and one dentist at the service of migrants from 3 reception centers in the territory of the Municipality of Sid. Currently IDC has 3 active medical teams in reception centers in Sid, Dimitrovgrad and Subotica. The teams consist of doctors and technicians, whose work, as well as regular supply of medicines and medical equipment is provided by donor.

  • Volunteer activities
