SAM.I Contest in providing first aid – Žabljak 2024.

 

The nineth international SAM.I Contest in providing first aid was held from 18-21 July in Žabljak, Montenegro. The organization of this event was realized by Alfa Center from Montenegro, IDC from Serbia and CDI from Macedonia with the support of the SAMI network.

The competition brought together participants from 12 organizations in Europe who were divided into 19 teams within the A and B categories, where the first category consists of teams from 12 to 15 years old, and the second from 16 to 21 years old.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The tasks consisted of three parts – a written test, a creative task and tasks in the form of providing first aid in the field. The creative task was in the form of a skit on the theme of “Vampire Diaries” where the contestants showed their imagination and talent and had a lot of fun with it. The teams were judged by an international jury, with evaluation of group and individual performances.

In addition to the competitive part, the participants had the opportunity to enjoy a tour of the Durmitor National Park and to experience the rafting adventure on the Tara River.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Winners were announced in the following categories:

– In the category of A teams and B teams, the victory was won by Weißes Kreuz from Italy.

– In the creative task – a play on the theme of “Vampire Diaries”, the well-deserved first place went to the SFOP team from Poland, and the third place went to the IDC team.

– In the individual category, the first places for category A went to Beáta Romanová (ASSR), Miriam Steger (Weißes Kreuz), Elias Oberkofler (Weißes Kreuz)

– In the category B teams, the best was Mila Perinska from CDI – me, Macedonia.

“I am extremely pleased that we successfully organized another SAM.I competition and once again witnessed the importance of active participation and dedicated humanitarian work.” The teams showed a high degree of readiness and motivation and what is most important – mutual solidarity, support and togetherness,” says Ivo Bonamico, secretary general of the SAM.I International network.

“We are an association that has been working for years on the exchange of knowledge of our member organizations and on its joint development,” explains Knut Fleckenstein, president of Samaritan International. “Young people are the ones who will continue our thought in the future and I am proud of the teams that participated in this year’s Samaritan Contest”.

The goal of the competition was to contribute to the international connection of young people and their exchange of knowledge and the acquisition of new experience in providing first aid and dealing with other social issues.
