On 9 and 10 October 2025, the Initiative for Development and Cooperation (IDC) hosted an Experimental Laboratory on European values, focusing on human dignity, equality, and anti-discrimination, as part of the WAVE II project. This activity aimed to enhance the social inclusion of young people and to promote core European values and human rights standards through art, music, and dialogue.
The Laboratory convened young people from diverse cultural and migration backgrounds, including migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and returnees in Serbia, with the objective of fostering empathy, intercultural understanding, and social inclusion. Through interactive non-formal education methods and creative expression, participants exchanged experiences and collectively reflected on the significance of human dignity, equality, and the prohibition of discrimination in their lives and local communities.
Structured workshops emphasizing artistic and musical expression facilitated open dialogue, mutual learning, and creative freedom, utilizing art and music as instruments for connection and solidarity. As tangible outcomes, participants created a mural and a song that symbolically represent shared human values and publicly affirm the principles of human dignity, equality, and non-discrimination.
