The first meeting of partners on the new IRIS Progress project

In Belgrade, from 19 to 20th June, the first meeting of partners on the new IRIS Progress project was held. During the meeting, we went through all the activities together and made an implementation plan. We are soon expected to implement a number of activities aimed at strengthening the capacity of organizations providing social services, as well as advocacy and awareness-raising activities on the necessity of protecting and promoting human rights, anti-discrimination and fostering good neighborly relations in the region.

The role of the contact organization for the implementation of the project was assumed by the members of the network who are partners in the new cycle of the project, namely:

LIR Civil Society from Banja Luka – for Bosnia and Herzegovina

Alfa center from Niksic – for Montenegro

Community Development Institute from Tetovo – for North Macedonia

Center for labor rights from Tirana – for Albania

ASB SEE and IDC – for Serbia

During the second day, we presented the IRIS network development strategy, which was created last year, and whose implementation is gaining momentum precisely with this project. Biljana Zgonjanin, director of the LIR CD organization from Banja Luka, shared her experience in network management at the national level. Since 2012, LIR has been a part of IRIS network and the implementing partner for network activities for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Apart from the regional project, LIR independently implements projects within the network at the national level and cultivates active and good relations with its members.
